DIFD4

A sister node to DoItForDan on separate infrastructure, added in September 2026. Also a testbed for running a validator on much less disk — currently 288 GB rather than 422 GB, with the settings and measurements written up on the DIFD4 page.

About the 15% validator fee

All three validators are set to 15%. DIFD4 charges it already, because a fee set at creation applies immediately. For Radix Charts V2 and DoItForDan it is an increase, so it does not take effect until epoch 345,107 and 345,108 — around 29 September 2026. Until then those two still charge 2.5% and 5% respectively.

It is worth being straight about why the fee rose: hosting costs rose sharply during 2026 — one provider raised cloud instance prices by up to 3.1× in June alone — while the XRD price fell, so the same emissions cover much less of the running cost. Most of the validator set has moved into the 10–20% range for the same reason.

Radix delays any fee increase by 4,032 epochs, roughly two weeks, so you always have notice and time to move your stake. A fee decrease applies at the next epoch.
